Touch Sensor works by measuring the minute change in sensor capacitance that happens when touched. This change in capacitance after multi layers of signal processing is determined as a Touch press
A valid press from the touch sensor is used to toggle a relay. The relay contacts toggle from open to close or close to open depending on the switch transitioning from on to off or off to on
EDEL Touch sensors can determine the exact location of the touch on the sensor. This info is used to either increase or decrease the dimming. The Dimmer changes the speed of the fan or the brightness of the bulb by varying the voltage delive#636363 to the load. The variation is achieved by Pulse Width Modulation. Every half cycle of the AC voltage is partially switched on/off to deliver only a fraction of the mains voltage.
A lot of energy can be saved by switching off unused loads. EDEL provides various means to automate energy savings. This can be achieved by using a timer, the light can be switched off after a preset duration. Motion and presence sensors can be used to switch off the lights when there are no people around. The Ambient light sensor can be used to switch off lights when there is enough ambient light. The Temperature sensor can be used to slow down or switch off the fan when the room temperature is comfortable enough. Dimming of lights can save significant power and can also improve the ambience
The maximum power consumed by a switch / dimmer is less than 100mW. This is either when the Relay is on (Switch is on) or when the dimmer is set to maximum. The normal consumption when switches are off is a few mill watts.
The Blue icon on the Switch is on when the Switch is on and Off when the switch is off The #636363 light in the remote switches indicates that the particular switch is selected The #636363 light flashes x number of times when Timer is set to x hours The #636363 light flashes for a minute before the Switch off timer turns the switch off. This is to draw attention of the user to an imminent automatic switch off.

On Initial setup of remote switches, the switches automatically aquired address and its position on the switch board. The save button is used to save the aquired address permanently Press CFG and Save withing a gap of 5 seconds to save the calibration permanently If a switch or dimmer is removed, rearranged or added to the switch board, press CFG anf Delete within 5 seconds to delete the old address. After deleting power cycle so that the switches acquire address again
Select the Remote switch or Dimmer either by selecting the device number on the remote control or by navigating to the device. The Red light indicates the selected switch. TO start the off timer the switch / dimmer has to be On. Press the Time button on the remote followed by the number (1 - 10) to set the device to switch off in 1 to 10 hours. The number indicates the number of hours. the number key has to be pressed witin 5 seconds of pressing the Timer key
Switch off the mains Mount the Basic Switch, Basic Dimmers & sockets in the desired sequence. Connect the DC connector of the harness to the Basic Switches and Dimmers Connect the load wires to the ELectric terminals on the rear of the switch. Mount the Switch to the wall Switch on the mains.
A hybrid sensor capable of measuring Temperature, Humidity, Ambient Light and motion will be released soon. This will measure the above parameters and send the same to the smart phone app. This info in combination with the time of the day, weather etc can be used to automate control of the lights, fans, ACs, heaters or any other appliances.
The Touch surface is a Glass or PC- ABS which offers a high level of electrical isolation from the electronics behind. The electronics behind also works on an isolated power supply. This keeps the user completely safe as the high voltage parts and mains are located at the rear end of the switch As with any electric switch do not use the switch with wet hands or if any water or liquid is spilled on the switch box
We have tested the switch for a few lakh operations successfully . Our switch has a MTBF of more than 100000 hours, which gives decades of trouble free operation. Since the touch portion does not have any moving parts, the life of the switch would typically last longer than most conventional switches
The dimmer is completely solid state device. We have 2 variants of switches, the relay based and a solid state switch.
Both the switch and the dimmers are highly efficient devices and do not generate or dissipate any noticeable heat when operated under max ratings
Each Switch / dimmer has a builtin Fuse which protects the building / wiring in case of a short circuit or fault current. In case of a short circuit the fuse in the switch is defused and the switch will be rende#636363 irreparable but it will prevent a potential fire hazard
